Last updated: 9 June 2026

Introduction

Idle Logic Pte. Ltd. (referred to as "Idle", "we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your personal data and respecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, store, and protect information when you use our website www.idlebooking.com, our web software, and related products, tools, dashboards, and support services (collectively, the "Services").

By accessing or using our Services, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

Who This Policy Applies To

This Policy applies to:

  • Visitors: Individuals who browse www.idlebooking.com without creating an account.
  • Clients (Salon / Business Owners): Businesses using Idle to manage their operations, appointments, revenue analytics, catalogues, staffing, and other business functions.
  • Client Staff: Employees or contractors whose information is uploaded or managed by a business using Idle.
  • End Customers: Customers who book appointments or whose data is recorded by a business using Idle. Idle processes this data only on behalf of the business.

Our Role: Controller and Data Intermediary

Our role under data protection law (including Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012, the "PDPA") depends on whose data is involved:

  • For business account, staff and visitor data: Idle acts as the organisation that decides how and why the data is processed.
  • For End Customer data entered or generated by a business using Idle (e.g., a salon's client records, appointments, and payment status): the business is the controller of that data and Idle acts only as a data intermediary / processor, processing it on the business's behalf and instructions to provide the Services. The business is responsible for having a lawful basis and any required consents to collect and use that data, and for responding to its customers' privacy requests.

End Customers who want to access, correct, or delete their records should contact the business they booked with. We will support that business in fulfilling such requests.

Payment Information

When a business uses the platform to take payments, deposits, or balances (online, at point of sale, or via an in-person card reader):

  • Card and payment details are collected and processed directly by our third-party payment processor (currently Stripe) using the processor's own secure technology. Idle does not receive or store full card numbers.
  • We may store a payment-processor reference (such as a customer or transaction identifier) and limited details such as amount, currency, payment status, card brand, and the last four digits, so the business can manage bookings, deposits, balances, and saved-card checkout where you and the business have enabled it.
  • Your payment is processed by the payment processor under its own terms and privacy policy. The business is the merchant for these transactions; Idle does not hold or settle the funds.

How We Use Your Information

If we introduce new features that change how personal data is processed, users will be notified and updated terms or consent may be required before using those features.

We use your data for the following reasons:

To Provide and Operate the Services

  • Creating and managing accounts
  • Delivering business management tools
  • Processing bookings and customer records
  • Facilitating payments, deposits, and balances through our third-party payment processor (Idle does not process the payment or hold the funds itself)
  • Operating automated messaging or AI-assisted booking features where a business has enabled them
  • Generating analytics dashboards
  • Managing staff schedules
  • Delivering notifications or reminders (email, SMS, or WhatsApp where integrated)

To Provide Automated Messaging and AI-Assisted Features

Where a business chooses to enable automated messaging or an AI-assisted booking assistant (for example, a WhatsApp receptionist), customer messages and related booking information may be processed to understand requests, answer questions, and create, reschedule, or cancel bookings on the business's behalf. This may involve:

  • Processing the content of messages exchanged through the feature
  • Sharing limited message and booking context with third-party AI/large-language-model and messaging providers to generate responses
  • Retaining conversation and interaction logs to operate, secure, and improve the feature

The business controls whether these features are switched on and what information (such as services, pricing, staff, or policies) the assistant may share. Automated responses may be imperfect and are not a substitute for professional advice.

To Improve and Develop New Features

Including AI or agentic features coming to Idle. We may analyse usage trends to optimise product performance.

To Provide Customer Support

  • Respond to inquiries
  • Troubleshoot technical issues
  • Provide training or onboarding

For Marketing (Business Users Only)

We may send:

  • Product updates
  • New feature announcements
  • Onboarding content
  • Educational materials

You can opt out at any time.

To Ensure Safety and Compliance

  • Detect fraud or suspicious activity
  • Enforce platform policies
  • Comply with legal obligations

Legal Basis for Processing

Depending on the activity, we rely on:

  • Performance of contract (providing the platform services)
  • Legitimate interests (improving features, preventing fraud, analytics)
  • Consent (marketing communications)
  • Compliance with legal obligations

  • Payment and transaction records: retained as needed to operate the Services and to meet tax, accounting, and other legal obligations (typically up to several years), even after an account is closed
